Dash is an analytics web app that helps users (businesses) analyse their business files and get meaningful insights like KPIs and KDIs, thus allowing them to make informed business decisions.

About the Project

The team had a UI designer on the ground already before I joined, I worked alongside the other designer and the developer. We were tasked with designing the landing page and the web application. Today, I will be talking about the web application. I hope you enjoy my process as much as I did.

About the Company

Dash is an AI-driven platform that focuses on making data analysis simple. The cross-functional team in Dubai comprises persons of diverse races and colours. The company welcomes businesses and personal data and provides meaningful insights like KPIs.

Page Structure

Since this is going to be an analytics interface, I approached the design as though, with time, I would have multiple projects to choose from Hence, a dashboard project page, where I will be able to sort my previous projects. Also, I should be able to create a new project from here.

All Interactions can be viewed in this Prototype.

Dashboard Project

The first thing on my list was creating a dashboard known as Project. Here they can access all the projects that have been created. Each project’s information is stored independently to differentiate them from each other.

The Dashboard Explained

The Dashboard has three action points:

  1. Dashboards Created — These are projects that had been created by users before. They contain data uploaded and the analytics of the same.
  2. New Dashboard — This is an action to create a completely new project. This project may be a blank or from a pool of templates available. We will dive more into this later.
  3. Sorting — The Projects may be sorted by different sorting options.
